"if you pirate a movie, think about all the crew members who won't get paid! doesn't the camera man deserve to eat? not everyone involved is rich!" camera guy already got paid, my dude. he genuinely doesn't care whether the movie is successful. he doesn't get a cut. paycheck is already in his pocket and that's all he's gonna get. he's already moved on to the next gig

I may be misremembering this but I'm pretty sure only the higher ups (director, the big name celebrities, ect.) get paid on the back end (based on the success of the movie).

The lower people, like the cameraman, their earnings come out of the original budget. They've already been paid and you paying to watch the movie now only helps the millionaire involved in making the movie.
